Being a pre-teen is an exciting time; as your child moves towards young adulthood, they will meet all sorts of new and different challenges. While they mature physically, mentally and emotionally, they learn quicker than younger children, but they will continue to learn differently from adults.
With this in mind, Kung-fu Schools, Sutton run age-specific classes with lessons that are fun, engaging, challenging, and most importantly, appropriate to your child’s age and learning stage.
Younger children between the ages of 4 and 7 will benefit from our Little Dragons classes, while older children aged 13 and over will relish the challenges of our Adult classes.
Our Junior classes are geared towards children between 7 and 12 years of age, with a comprehensive curriculum that covers materials for beginners, all the way through to intermediates and advanced. As children progress through our grading structure, their concentration and self-control will improve. This allows for longer lessons for the intermediate and advanced students, which also includes partner work and weapons training, all taught in a controlled atmosphere under the watchful eyes of our instructors.
At the Kung Fu Schools, it is our aim to guide every one of our students to their Junior black belt and beyond! After all, a black belt is only a white belt that never gave up!
We teach all our lessons in an upbeat and friendly manner, with a focus on positive reinforcement and encouragement. Our instructors are fully trained and DBS checked, with years of combined experience in teaching children. We also limit the number of children in each class, keeping a small student to instructor ratio to ensure that your child will get the most out of each and every lesson. Our two rules for the kids are: to always try their best, and to always have fun!
Kung Fu Schools is fortunate to be closely associated with the Confucius Institute, a centre for Chinese culture and wellbeing. Our links provide our Juniors with various opportunities to attend or even to appear in various Kung Fu performances and demonstrations, the latest being a Chinese arts and culture show at the Fairfield Halls to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Dragon.
